V US Stakeholders’ Meeting
The Meeting is underway in Washington, DC
Fostering the Italy-US science, technology and innovation dialogue, and turning it into industrial co-investments between our two countries.
Who we are
In 2023, Harmonic Innovation Group, together with the Transatlantic Investment Committee, which had launched its initiatives in Washington in 2022, established the Transatlantic Harmonic Foundation: an Italian non-profit organisation dedicated to advancing dialogue between Italy and the United States on investment in technologies with high growth potential.
Over the years, the Foundation has pursued three guiding priorities:
Engaging with the relevant institutions in Italy and the United States, at central and federal, regional and state level, and with leading representatives of the business and academic communities.
Focusing its work on specific technology verticals: AI and Quantum, Aerospace, Life Sciences, Advanced Manufacturing, Energy and Cleantech.
Creating opportunities for awareness and structured engagement between Italian and US stakeholders and ecosystems.
2026 Operations
As the Foundation’s principal stakeholder, Harmonic Innovation Group has progressively strengthened its capacity for analysis and proposal. From 2025 onwards, the Foundation has concentrated this capacity on two major areas of work:
Building a deeper understanding of the industrial ecosystems of Italian Regions and US States.
Developing new ways of building successful partnerships across the most advanced technology fields. The activities that preceded and followed the Joint Commission Meeting of 14 and 15 April 2026 marked a decisive step towards a broader landscape of scientific and technological cooperation.
“The delegations welcomed the forthcoming U.S.-Italy Dialogue on Trusted Technologies at Villa Firenze in Washington on April 28 and proposed discussions at the 5th U.S. Stakeholders’ Meeting of the Transatlantic Harmonic Foundation in October 2026 as opportunities to continue expanding JCM activities. Furthermore, they expressed appreciation for the integrated approach between scientific research and private sector innovation underlying the forthcoming Italy-U.S. Business, Innovation, Science and Investment Forum in Miami, which will include a high-level science dialogue.”
Our Vision
Our goal is to turn the partnership between research ecosystems and trusted innovation into a joint opportunity for growth and competitiveness for both our countries, based on a few guiding principles:
Tomorrow’s prosperity depends on accelerating technological discovery and its translation into industry, within a framework that keeps people and democratic values at the heart of every decision.
Achieving this calls for a significant critical mass of actors who share the same principles and objectives: together, Italy and the United States can realise an even greater innovative and economic potential than they have to date.
This potential arises from the many complementarities the two countries have developed, now embedded in their leading innovation and industrial systems: vertical specialisations, access to talent and access to capital markets within a trusted environment.
These opportunities make it worthwhile to strengthen our systems’ ability to foster matching between trusted actors, enabling co-investment in both directions along the entire value chain, from applied research to industrialisation and beyond, supported by trusted capital.
THF and Harmonic Innovation Group are committed to fostering and supporting this environment through greater information symmetry, preparatory work and practical tools.
What we do
The analysis, which also takes into account the institutional research priorities of our two countries, focuses on identifying potential partnerships in the following sectors, looking at possible collaborations between research organisations, start-ups, and companies.

Tools
THF and Harmonic Innovation Group operate across the entire value chain. THF concentrates on three instruments that support cooperation in science, technology and innovation, while HIG and its ecosystem provide a set of tools to translate the joint investment potential into reality.
DPP
High-level analyses of activatable partnerships in industrial research and market transfer, with matrix deep-dives across both technology verticals and the geographies involved.
AMD
Building on the DPP, and in close collaboration with the relevant institutions, THF supports the identification of potential partnerships on both the Italian and US sides across scientific collaboration, innovation and market transfer.
ISM
The most significant of which traditionally takes place in Washington, DC, each October: an occasion to take stock of the year’s work and to shape the priorities for the year ahead.
Harmonic Innovation Group’s offering is structured on three levels, all of which can benefit from the participation of the partners of the Harmonic Innovation Ecosystem.
For companies
A transformation path that follows the parameters of Harmonic Innovation, the paradigm conceived by Entopan. It unfolds in three phases: an assessment of the company’s alignment with the paradigm through structured methodologies and “harmonic” KPIs; the identification of the main challenges to enable transformation, through participatory design; and the implementation of the actions identified, also drawing on the Harmonic Innovation Lab to test the proposed solutions.
For universities, research centres, start-ups
Supporting the technology transfer of research by matching the technologies developed with companies in the market, analysing patent portfolios and brokering relationships with industry. This includes the scouting, incubation and acceleration of start-ups, with training, coaching and mentoring, support in identifying investors and guidance through funding rounds.
For companies
Supporting companies in the adoption of new technologies, both through research and innovation projects and through the system integration of technologies already available in the market that need to be incorporated into the company’s architecture.
A set of technology platforms is being developed at infrastructural, system-architecture and AI-foundational level, connecting the actors of the ecosystem for greater integration and effectiveness. The network of Hubs and spokes guarantees physical proximity and hosts events, training and recreational activities that strengthen the ecosystem’s relationships. The Hubs are the result of research aimed at innovating the places where ecosystem activities take place, regenerating disused spaces and combining them in an architecturally novel way.
The Group is organised as a network of dedicated centres of competence, articulated around its investee companies, as shown below.
The Event
This year’s work will lead to the V THF US Stakeholders’ Meeting on 16 October in Washington, DC, preceded by a day of B2B contacts on 15 October.
The Meeting will focus on accelerating the scientific, technological and industrial partnership between the most advanced ecosystems of Italy and the United States.
